Withthings like Turbo Boost Index and Frequency Scaling Index, a processor is usually able to be controlled more responsively with core parking disabled. Here is a good example of a vendor, AMD, with there Razon product in 2017 creating custom powers for optimum use of there processor.

Personally I prefer the acpi-cpufreq driver with the conservative governor, so I just blacklist the intel_pstate driver at kernel boot with the intel_pstate=disable parameter. But again, that's not really relevant to your CPU-stressing question. So, run your CPU stress tests again when the turbo-boost has been disabled, and let us know how it
Inthe menu that opens, select "Enhancement" from the Precision Boost Overdrive dropdown. Then, select one of the three preset thermal limits. Level 1 will set the maximum target temperature to 90° Celsius, a modest step down from the default 95° Celsius.

I76700HQ (150.4 mV both core and cache, iGPU -50mV used to work but now crashes games) 16gb 2400 mhz ram. Gtx 1060 3gb (undervolted) Whenever the disable tb is checked games like doom eternal subnautica cod warzone crashes, they crashes like when iGPU is undervolted. But locking the turbo boost limit down to 2.6ghz works fine.
yes disabling boost not only reduces cpu temps massively but also drops the gpu temps if there are shared heat pipes. i have a g6 se and disabling boost dropped the cpu temp from 105 (max) while gaming to (82) . the gpu also dropped about 4-5 degrees on average but this are heavy summer numbers and the g5 has 2 shared heat pipes so the reality might be different for the a15
servedconserved• 4 yr. ago. When you set processor power max to 99% windows disables turbo boost and the max processor speed is approx 100MHZ below your base clock. If you disable turbo boost in the bios you should run at base clock which would be 100MHZ higher than using the 99% method. But I have not verified it.
